Skwim mountain and the surrounding area is most definitely one of the most spectacular spots in the Qathet district. The vivid rusted iron coated rock contrasts the deep blues and whites of alpine lakes. I have been up here multiple times and followed a similar route. The route starts out with a relatively steep trail up through the fish hooked trees then crosses a big rock slide. on the other side of the slide, the trees start to thin out. Once in the Alpine, The Boot, as it is called, is the mountain to the west of Skwim lake (the larger lake). It's steep faces force you east, and then on route south towards the Skwim summit along the ridge. The Ridge carries on and eventually to get down to the lakes you hike down a fairly steep 200M tall scree slope.
