27.38 KM

Day 24 of the HRP traverse started off at Bassa de Sobriu where I camped out last night. I packed up quickly after a bit of a humid night and started making my way toward Mont Rouch. After a short while of hiking, I split from my HRP route at 2210M and started making my way North East. I hiked up to Collada de Mont Roig South West and then Began making the climb up to Pic de la Tartera, a sub summit of Mont Rouch. I climbed up the South West face of the mountain on a fairly easy to follow path of loose rock. Once on the sub summit, it gave the feeling of being on the summit, but I was still 20 meters under the true summit. Dropped down 30 meters on a wide ridge line and made my way towards the false summit. The ridge line lay exactly on the French and Spanish border, and so does the summit. Once on top of the South summit I once again thought that I was on the summit, but the true summit is almost certainly the North bump of the split topped mountain, which is about 4 meters taller. I descended a bit down into a col, which was a bit scrambly, then finally went up the true summit. After a brief pause on the summit, I continued hiking along the border East, until 2700 meters, where I turned off the ridge and started heading towards Estany Inferior de la Gallina and Refugio Enric Pujol. I poked my head in the spaceship looking refuge, and then kept heading East, where I descended into a long valley with some interesting glacially eroded slabs. I continued on to a micro hamlet called Noarre, where only a handful of rustic cabins with a few residents were. I stopped here to dry out my soaked tent and gear, as well as eat some food and use the village fountain. In the afternoon I made my way toward the Col de Certascan, and then descended to the rather large Estany de Certascan. Just South of the lake was Refuge de Certascan, the vibe there was good and I was able to stop and charge my devices and use internet. After hanging out for a bit and also waiting out some afternoon heat, I made a 1400M descent to Pla de La Borda. Once I was back down at 1400M, I could then start on my third climb of the day up to Cabana de Sellente, an unmanned cabin where I would spend the night.
